Do it for the Doof
This isn’t just about Esoteric. It’s about Rainbow and all the other festivals struggling to survive in a world making that increasingly difficult.
Unfair regulations, over the top policing which we also have to pay for, influxes of hurt people hurting themselves and everything around them, ridiculous insurance costs, prejudicial media coverage, not to mention the increasingly hectic weather. We are lucky there are any festivals at all!
We need to do everything we can to help keep our homelands alive.
Doofs showcase the very best of what humanity is capable of. They demonstrate the magic that is possible when we all offer our talents in service to creating something beautiful to share.
We need to start sharing our story so the broader community understands what’s good for the doof is good for everyone and supports their existence.
Getting back on site for Esoteric 2026 is only the beginning.
We face the same challenges as the rest of society. People come into our community who have been indoctrinated into the selfish way of thinking that underpins the wider culture of today.
Outbreaks of littering, blow outs and bad vibes have been an ongoing issue plaguing our homelands. This is not the fault of the organisers but the troubles of modern society.
It is up to every one of us to stand for our community and turn the tides.
Every time you walk past litter or disrespect to our home you are saying I am okay with this and don’t care enough to do anything about it.
Every piece of rubbish and every conversation makes a difference.
Lead by example and stand up for our community. Be the immune system. If we all work together as a team we can keep our community flourishing long into the future.
YOU are what makes the difference.

How You Can be a Doof Legend
Be the immune system! See something? Do something! The standard you walk past is the standard you accept. Lead by example and watch how others follow.
Pick up rubbish when you see it. Nobody like having to pick up other people’s trash, but are you going to sit back and let our home get destroyed? Every piece makes a difference.
Smile with your heart at every one you meet
Remember we are all human. We all want to be happy and we don’t want to suffer. We all have hearts, we all feel and we all can change. Look into each person’s eyes and see this is a human just like me, and relate to them from that place.
Be patient and kind. It’s the best thing you can do for yourself.
When you see someone acting like a jerk take a deep breath. Remember its nobody’s fault that we’ve been born into a toxic society that teaches us to act in harmful ways. People acting like jerks are confused and in pain. See the person beneath the programming and the potential for healing. Education is the cure for ignorance and you hold the keys.
Educate and empower rather than blame and shame.
Listen to people with an open heart and mind. Ask questions to make them feel heard and understand where they’re coming from.
